Kapa Haka

Room 9 and 15 had a great time at Kapa Haka today with Mr. Chadwick. We are learning the stick song (tī rakau) E papa Waiari.

Here are the lyrics if you want to practice:

E papā Waiari,
Taku nei mahi
Taku nei mahi,
He tuku roimata

Chorus:
Ē aue, ka mate au;
E hine hoki mai rā
Ē aue, ka mate au;
E hine hoki mai rā

Māku e kaute
Ō hīkoitanga
Māku e kaute
Ō hīkoitanga

Emily has been teaching me ti rakau since learning some cool actions with Mr Chadwick. We even had to make some rakau of our own to use. Thank you for posting the words to the song as it has been a while and I couldn't quite remember all of the words.
Perhaps you could put a blog up about how to make a poi so we can try that at home too.
