Testing Bridges

Today during Technology we were given a challenge to construct a bridge using only one piece of A4 paper...that's it! The bridge needed to support the heaviest weight possible. In groups we trialed several different designs. There was a clear winner (supporting a total of 72 cubes!)

Why was this design better than the rest?

Can you identify any feature that contributes to its success?
